Hi and welcome to Blogging with Ybet!
This lovely blog is ran by yours truly, Ybet. I am an undergraduate student in the state of Maryland studying Biology. In addition to being a full-time student, I work in retail/ customer service at an auto dealership. I enjoy retail since I interact with many different people each day and at times learn something new.
Among some of my hobbies are playing tennis, kayaking, and watching sports. Soccer is very interesting to watch to me but I’m not that good playing it. I enjoy spending time with friends and family and going on road trips. In the future, I would like to travel to different countries, such as Brazil, Spain, and Turk and Caicos. I find pleasure in learning about different cultures and areas of the world as we are so diverse and of different backgrounds.
I am a proud foodie! I love trying different dishes and stepping out of my comfort zone when it comes to food, especially desserts. I have tried a variety of Latin American dishes including as pupusas, enchiladas, and empanadas. Among my favorties are Tamales de Eloté and Atol de Eloté. I have also tried a number of Asian and Italian dishes but would love to try more. Food is such a unique component in daily life and so diverse across different parts of the world, that creates great excitement in me.
Inside Media
A media related interests that I have is photography. One of my close friends is a photographer and it was very surprising to me to see how certain effects are created and the creativity behind it. Watching a photographer work to crate certain sceneries and visual effects definitely created a spark in photography for me.
Some curiosities about media
- Should there be any consequences for false or inaccurate data published online?
- Do news outlets create a bias for its viewers in terms of how they view world issues?
- Does the media hold too much power in certain areas/ topics (ex. Politics)?
